A Licensed HVAC Contractor in Temecula — Not a Call Center

SoCal AC Guy is Jorge and a small crew working out of Temecula. When you call, you reach the people who will actually be at your house — not a dispatcher three states away selling your job to whoever bids on it. C-20 licensed, CA Lic. #1070401, 10+ years in the Inland Empire.

Most HVAC websites open with a paragraph about passion and family values. Here is something more useful: what we are licensed to do, how we price it, and what happens when you call.

Jorge runs the calls. There is a small crew behind him, but this is not a company where you meet a salesperson on Monday and never see them again. The person who diagnoses your system is the person accountable for the repair.

What “Licensed” Actually Means

Plenty of people advertising HVAC work in Riverside County are not licensed to do it. California requires a C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning licence for this work. Ours is CA Lic. #1070401, and you can verify it yourself on the CSLB website in about thirty seconds. We would rather you did.

Three things that licence carries with it:

How We Price Work

Flat rate, quoted before the work starts, itemised in writing. You approve a number, and that is the number you pay. No hourly meter running while someone walks back to the truck.

Estimates are free and there is no trip charge to come look. If we diagnose something and you want to think about it, or get another quote, that is a completely normal thing to do and it costs you nothing.

We publish our actual pricing rather than hiding it behind a form. If you want the numbers before you call, they are on the AC repair cost and new system cost pages.

We Will Talk You Out of a Replacement

This is the part that costs us money and we keep doing it anyway.

A failed capacitor is a part that costs less than dinner. It will also stop an $8,000 air conditioner dead on a 108-degree afternoon, and a homeowner standing in a hot house is in no position to argue about whether the whole system needs replacing. That situation gets exploited constantly in this valley.

Our rule is simple: if a repair gets you several more good years, we quote the repair. Replacement gets recommended when the numbers genuinely support it — a failed compressor on a fifteen-year-old R-22 system, a cracked heat exchanger, repair costs approaching half of replacement. When we do recommend it, we show you the arithmetic. If you want to work through it yourself first, start with repair vs replace.

What Happens on a Service Call

No mystery, no clipboard theatre:

  1. We ask what it is doing. Not cooling, cooling weakly, short-cycling, making a noise, tripping the breaker — each points somewhere different before anyone touches a gauge.
  2. Airflow first. Filter, blower, coil, ducting. A startling share of “the AC is broken” calls are airflow problems wearing a costume.
  3. Electrical. Capacitor, contactor, wiring, amp draw at the compressor. Cheap, common, and where most real failures live.
  4. Refrigerant last. Superheat and subcooling, not just “topping it off.” A system low on refrigerant has a leak, and adding more without finding it is selling you the same problem twice.
  5. Findings, then a written price. You hear what is wrong and what it costs before anything gets fixed.

The full walkthrough, gauge by gauge, is in what happens inside an AC service call.

Our Warranty

Workmanship is covered by a written warranty, handed to you with the paperwork rather than described vaguely at the door. Equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty on top of that, and registration gets handled at install — an unregistered unit can quietly lose years of coverage.

If something we installed or repaired fails within its warranty period, we come back. That is the entire policy.

The Work We Do

Residential: AC repair and installation, heating and furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, ductwork, smart thermostats, indoor air quality, and maintenance plans.

Commercial: rooftop units, restaurants and commercial kitchens, retail, offices, and wine-country production facilities. Details on commercial HVAC.

Sizing is done with a Manual J load calculation, not by reading the label on your old unit and matching it. The old one may well have been wrong — oversizing is the most common installation mistake in this valley, and it produces a house that is clammy and cold instead of comfortable.

Where We Work

Temecula is home base. From there we cover Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Winchester, French Valley, Canyon Lake, Sun City, Hemet and Riverside, out to the rural corridors around Anza and Aguanga, and south into North San Diego County — Fallbrook, De Luz, Bonsall, Rainbow and North Escondido.

That spread is deliberate. A Temecula tract home, a hillside property in La Cresta on propane, and a Pass-corridor house taking 60 mph wind loads are three different jobs, and pretending otherwise is how systems get specified badly.

Common Questions

Are you actually licensed and insured?

Yes. C-20 HVAC contractor, CA Lic. #1070401, bonded and insured, EPA Section 608 certified for refrigerant handling. The licence number is real and verifiable through the California CSLB licence lookup.

Will Jorge be the one who shows up?

Usually, yes. This is a small operation — Jorge runs calls himself with a small crew behind him. You are not going to get a salesperson on the first visit and a stranger on the second.

Do you charge for estimates or a trip fee?

No. Estimates are free and there is no charge to come out and look. You get a written, itemised price before any work begins, and you are free to take it elsewhere.

How do I know you are not upselling me a new system?

Ask for the repair number. If a repair will get you several more good years we will quote it, and if we recommend replacement we will show you the arithmetic behind that recommendation — age, refrigerant type, repair cost as a share of replacement cost. If a contractor cannot show you that math, be careful.

What are your hours?

7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week. Summer in the Inland Empire does not take weekends off, so neither do we.

Do you handle the new R-454B refrigerant?

Yes. New equipment has moved to R-454B, which is mildly flammable and carries different handling, storage and leak-detection requirements than R-410A. We work on both, and on older R-22 systems still running out their lives. More in the R-454B transition guide.
